Agriculture Engineering Department
The branch of agricultural engineering is not as well known as some of the other branches, but it is nevertheless a very important aspect of engineering which you will find suitable if you are creative, love nature and have the ability to solve problems in the field. Agricultural engineering is that discipline which applies the principles of engineering to farming and food production in order to make these processes more efficient and productive. This includes design and up gradation of improved agricultural machinery and devising better methods of irrigation, pest control, fertilizers, harvest and storage. Since agriculture is the ultimate source of food for all mankind, this branch of study is gradually gaining importance. In addition to the above, agricultural engineering also deals with mechanical aspects of animal husbandry and soil and water conservation for farming.

Mission of the Department
- To produce good quality agricultural engineers.
- To provide the required manpower in the field of agricultural engineering suitable for research and education, extension, government agency, private industries, agro-industries, NGO etc.
- Respond effectively to the needs of the industry and changing world by providing consultancy to the neighborhood and cultivating the spirit of entrepreneurship
- To assist farmers in reducing the cost of cultivation through better utilization of efficient farm machinery, soil and water conservation, irrigation management, value addition through farm level processing, post-harvest technology; protective cultivation and use of renewable energy ultimately help the farmers to increase their earnings
- Human resource development of the faculty.

Laboratory facilities
- New Age Laboratories provides a full range of environmental analytical testing services, such as analysis of soil, sediment, water, leachates, dust, and air.
- The range of analytical services provided for the above mentioned matrices includes routine, trace, and ultra-trace level organics (volatiles, semi volatiles, pesticides, PCBs, herbicides), and metals.
- New Age Laboratories provides agricultural lab tests on everything from seed to harvest for customers seeking to increase their production.
