Bridging the Gap Between AI Fundamentals and Real-World Web Development
Artificial Intelligence is transforming the way applications are developed, businesses operate and digital solutions are delivered. To help students understand these emerging technologies and explore their practical applications, the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at Akshaya Institute of Technology (AIT), Tumakuru, organized a three-hour hands-on workshop titled “AI to Web: From Fundamentals to Deployment” on 29 October 2026.
The workshop was conducted from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM in Room No. 401, exclusively for the 3rd Semester students. The session was led by Mr. Dhyan A, AI Specialist at Alkhetra Tech Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Tumakuru, who introduced students to modern AI concepts, developer tools, workflow automation and the fundamentals of building and deploying web applications.
The programme aimed to familiarise students with the technologies and processes that connect artificial intelligence with practical web development, encouraging them to move beyond theoretical knowledge and explore real-world applications.

Exploring Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI and Agentic AI
The workshop began with an introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI, helping students understand how intelligent systems can process information, generate content and support different tasks.
A key focus was placed on AI Agents and Agentic AI. Students were introduced to how AI agents differ from traditional AI tools, how they can work towards specific goals and how they are being applied in real-world scenarios.
The resource person also discussed practical applications of AI and demonstrated how modern AI tools can support problem-solving, automation and application development. This session provided students with a foundation for understanding the growing role of intelligent systems in the technology landscape.
Understanding Git and GitHub for Collaborative Development
Version control is an essential part of modern software development. The second segment introduced students to Git and GitHub, two widely used tools for managing source code and collaborating on development projects.
Students explored the fundamentals of version control, repository creation and code management. The session covered essential Git operations, including committing, pushing, pulling and cloning repositories.
The resource person also explained branching, merging and collaborative workflows, highlighting how developers can manage changes, maintain project history and work together efficiently on shared codebases.
n8n Workflow Automation: Connecting Applications and APIs
The workshop then moved to n8n, a workflow automation platform, introducing students to the concept of connecting applications and automating repetitive tasks.
Participants learned about the fundamentals of workflow automation, including triggers, nodes and workflows. The session also explored how APIs can connect different applications and enable information to move between services.
Through practical demonstrations and use cases, students were introduced to the possibilities of building AI-powered automation workflows. This segment highlighted how automation can simplify processes, improve efficiency and connect multiple digital tools without relying entirely on manual operations.
From Website Development to Deployment
One of the key segments of the workshop focused on the journey from website development to deployment.
Students were introduced to the website development lifecycle and the roles of frontend, backend and database components in a web application. The session explained how these components work together to create functional and responsive websites.
The resource person also discussed the use of modern development tools, integrating version control through GitHub and the steps involved in publishing a website online.
The deployment segment introduced students to website hosting, domain configuration and basic deployment practices. By understanding these stages, participants gained an overview of how a web-based project can progress from development to an accessible online application.

The workshop provided students with exposure to several important areas of modern technology and software development. By the end of the session, participants were introduced to:
Artificial Intelligence: The fundamentals of AI, Generative AI, AI Agents and Agentic AI.

Workflow Automation: n8n concepts, triggers, nodes, API connections and AI-powered automation workflows.

The hands-on workshop offered students an opportunity to explore how different technologies come together in the development of modern digital solutions. By bringing together AI fundamentals, version control, workflow automation and website deployment, the programme presented a connected view of today's software development ecosystem.
The session encouraged students to experiment with modern tools, strengthen their technical understanding and explore opportunities to develop their own web-based solutions.
